From Classroom to Innovation: Ihifix Student Builds TrustVerify Website to Promote Safer Online Transactions
August 22, 2026
What if a young student could use technology to help people make safer decisions online? That question inspired TrustVerify, a website developed by Khadija Ibrahim Gatchi during the Ihifix STEM Summer Bootcamp 2026 and presented at the programme's graduation ceremony.
At Ihifix International STEM School, students are encouraged to use technology to solve real-world problems. Khadija's project is a clear reflection of that vision.
TrustVerify: Turning an Idea into a Digital Solution
With online shopping and digital transactions becoming increasingly common, identifying trustworthy businesses remains a challenge.
Khadija developed TrustVerify around a simple but powerful message: "Verify Before You Pay."
The website explores how users could access business information before making transactions through a business search interface, verification indicators, trust scores, customer ratings, and online safety tips.
It is currently a demonstration website using sample business data, but it shows how a young learner can identify a relevant problem and develop a functional digital prototype. This is innovation in action: using technology with purpose.

From Learning to Building: A Proud Graduation Moment
The Ihifix STEM Summer Bootcamp, held from July 27 to August 21, 2026, introduced students to practical skills in technology, engineering, and creative problem-solving. TrustVerify was built as a student project over a focused 4–6-week practical learning period.
At the Graduation and Skill Exhibition on August 22, 2026, Khadija presented the website and explained her idea to parents, mentors, and guests. Her achievement reflected creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and confidence.
Young minds are capable of building meaningful solutions when given the right opportunities.
Empowering the Next Generation of Innovators
Khadija's achievement highlights the importance of practical STEM education, especially in creating opportunities for girls to explore technology. At Ihifix International STEM School, students are encouraged to move beyond theory, experiment with ideas, and build projects that demonstrate their abilities.
Through experiences like these, learners begin to see themselves not just as users of technology, but as its future developers, engineers, entrepreneurs, and innovators.

TrustVerify is a student-built educational prototype using sample business data, not an operational business verification service.
At Ihifix International STEM School, we're not just teaching students about the future of technology. We're giving them the tools and confidence to start building it.
